Start of Round 4 last week.

Early game between Canada and the USA.  Goalie nightmare when these 2 teams meet.  USA gets 2 goals in the opening frame.  The 2nd went 2-2 and the Americans led 4-2 after 2 periods.  But the revitalized Canadians scored twice early to tie it up at 4’s.  USA took back the lead at 8:36.  Canadians pressed and tied it up once again at 5’s with 3:30 left on the ticker.  And that is how this one finished 5-5 tie.  Canada went 0-3 on the PP and USA was 1-1.  Canada got 2 goals from #1 Habs fan Denis Desrosiers and singles from Gerry Boudens, Leo Brideau and Ronnie Chantaj.  USA got 2 goals from Murray Russell, and singles from Rob McKean, Tony Carlisle and Timmy Randa who was seen exchanging gifts in the hallway with Flumerfelt.  What??????  Players of the Game went to Canada’s Paul Harty and USA sophomore Murray Russell.

Late game between Sweden and Finland was a beaut!!!!   All Swedes in the opening frame as they go out 2-0 after 1.  The dominate Fin’s storm back in the 2nd out scoring the Swedes 3-1 tieing this one up 3-3 after 2 periods.  Fins take the lead for the first time in the opening minute of the 3rd.  Swedes tie it up at the 10 minute mark.  Fin’s stepped it up late and scored the winner with 3 minutes to go for a 5-4 victory.  Good hockey game.  Swedes score their 1st PP goal of the season and go 1-1.  Fin’s were 0-0.  Swedes get 2 goals from Moe Connell and singles from Pat Sharp and Tony Thomas.  Fins get 2 goals from Marcelo Diluzio and singles from Brian Spence, Dr. Joel May and Enzo Ianno.  Players of the Game went to Finlands Marcelo Diluzio and Swedens Moe Connell.

This weeks games go Friday, January 13, 2017 and a full moon, oh boy…  9:15 Sweden will face off against Poland and at 10:30 Finland will play USA.  Canada gets the week off.

We will once again have a Super Bowl squares fund raiser and Mark Plewes and Scott McCallum will be around selling squares at $10 each.  Get in on it before all the squares are gone.  Super Bowl goes Sunday, February 5 this year in Houston.
