Ok we are off and running lads. Our opening kick off match for our 39th season of super fast elite old-timers hockey between Slovenia and Ireland was a close one. Brad Stoll scores the opening and lone goal of the first period for the Irish. Both teams scored once in the 2nd frame as Panetta scores the Slov’s first goal of the season. Last years scoring leader Vincelli keeps the Irish on top 2-1 after 2 periods. It was mostly all Slovenians in the final frame outscoring the Irish 5-2 for a final victory of 6-4. Barbosa returning after a long leave, Napolitano, Riopelle and 2 goals from Man-Bun Boulton for the Melania Trumpsters. The ageless Jodie Young and another from Vincelli for the Irish. Team Reps did not send me their Player of the Game choices so I picked them. For the Irish with a 2 point night Jodie Young. And for the Slov’s the very handsome Jeffery Boulton, with a 3 point night, did he cut his hair this summer?????? Penalty free game made Brenda very lonely for our opener.

Late game between Italy and Scotland was not a close one. Scotland stormed out of the gate scoring 4 times in the 1st frame. Platt, McCormick, Flumerfelt and Tygessen getting their firsts of the season. A closer 2nd period as Scotland scores twice and Italy once. McCormick and Johnny Levac returning to the league for the Scots. Dave Wodar gets Italy’s first of the season. And more of the same in the final frame as Scotland out scores Italy 3-1 for a final score of 9-2. Dr Joel May, Flumerfelt with his 2nd and McCormick completes his hat trick for the night. Alan Robb for the Italians. Players of the Game went to Italys Pizza Flipper, no idea who this guy is.

And for the Scots Patty McCormick, as I’m typing I have a heavy Scottish accent.

And the only penalty in both games went to Scotlands Greg Platt. Could he be the new Johnny Sparrow of the league??????
