Welcome to our 38th Season of Port Credit Oldtimers Hockey. Thought it was our 39th BUT we lost a year with that damn COVID so 38th season it is. We kicked off last week with a great PCOHL Golf Event and our Draft Night. Thanks to Murray Russell for organizing the Golf, lets do that again next Fall.

The Barrett brothers and Brenda, the 3 big B’s, are back with smiling faces. We have 4 new rookies this year. Brothers Todd (Scotland) and Kevin MacDougall (Italy). And Portugal has the other 2 rookies, Alex Baluta and Don Hambly. Welcome aboard lads.

Early tilt between Slovenia and Ireland. Both squads missing their big shooters for this one. Ireland opened the scoring for this 38th season as the doctor Joel May notches his first of the campaign. The ageless Bruce Freeman, our oldest member, scores with 1 second left on the ticker for Slovenia tieing it all up. Both teams score once in the second frame. Vincelli for the Slovs and Boulton for the Irish. Final frame kicked off tied at 2’s until the Melania Trump Slovenians went off scoring 4 unanswered goals winning this one 6-2. Marcello Di Luzio, welcome back old friend, got the game winner. Bobby King, best WhatsApp image sender long story, gets his first of the season and Dave Vincelli on fire scores twice in the 3rd for a hat trick on the night. Bruce who is like 95 years old also went to visit Brenda and scored a goal oh my… Players of the Game went to Slovenia’s Dave Vincelli with a 5 point night. And for the Irish the Doctor Joel May kicking off our newest season with the first goal. Just got old pics of these boys to share.

Late game between Scotland and Italy was a good one too. Italy suffering some kind of virus were missing 8 skaters and needed a lot of fill-ins. 1-1 after the first. Ciro Napolitano for the Italians and Timmy Randa for Scotland. Shut outs for both squads in the 2nd frame. Both Art and Stuart playing very well. All Scots in the 3rd as they out score the Italians 6-1 for a final score of 7-2. Steve Davis for the lone Italian score in the 3rd. Brad Stoll with 2 markers, singles for John Annan, rookie Todd MacDougall the game winner, Leo Brideau also gets his first for the season.

Players of the Game went to Scotlands backstop Stuart Henderson. Handsome dude.

And for the Italians Ciro Napolitano, a good Irish name hahahaha. Mrs. Napolitano your guy is the player of the game maybe a special reward for the big guy?????

OK so we are off and running. Next week Friday, September 26 early game 9:15 between the 0-1 Italians and the 0-1 Irish. Late game 10:30 Portugal has their first match vs the 1-0 Slovenians. Scotland gets the week off.
