Just off the wire the Islanders trade for Bostons temp player Paul Barbosa.  The shocking deal was just approved and Paul will join the Islanders tonight for their last game of the regular season and for the Playoffs.  Islanders officially placed Steve Waters and Gary Julius on long term injured list and were looking for a body.

Islander management stated ” Paul is exactly what we need and may just secure our run for the Oldtimer Stanley Cup.  Paul is very excited to be a temp player this year and will be a critical role player for us on either side of the ice”

Boston are sad to see Paul go but are extremely happy to get a case of beer, 2 rolls of hockey tape, 5 cigarettes, a full year of penthouse magazine from 1986, and the extra space in the changeroom and on the bench, Bruins ownership wish Paul all the very best and know tonight’s last game against the Islanders may be quite emotional.  We are palnning a long video tribute to Paul at the first media time out and if we can not get to it we will toast Paul by drinking the beer they got for him in his honor”

Pauls agent spoke to the media and sent this message on his behalf.  ” I hated the Bruins, they all liked to stay naked in the dressing room just a bit too long.  Our leading goal score Flumerfelt cries every game as he puts the jersey on and mumbles I just want to be a Hab.  Our greek dude Karabinis always ask me to go shower together and pick up the soap.  John Annan never stops talking and Jeff Kostick who uses more Axe than I have ever seen.  I can not tell you how excited I am to go to the Islanders who have a legitimate shot at the Stanley Cup and can not wait to play alongside Moe Connell who is the greatest player in the league”.

Should be an exciting game tonight at Port Credit arena.
