Round 2 is now in the books.  Early tilt between Sweden and USA, our top 2 teams early in our season.  Opening period saw both teams score once.  2nd period was scoreless for the brunt of it until Sweden notched 2 late goals taking a 3-1 lead after 2.  Sweden scored again early in the 3rd but USA would not back down and scored twice making it a 4-3 game with just over 4 minutes to go.  A big push from the Americans right through to the final buzzer and this one ends Sweden 4 USA 3.  Great game at both ends.  Both squads went 0-1 on the PP.  Sweden got goals from Paul Barbosa, Rob Messenger, Mike Rukavina and the game winner from Joe Peacock.  USA got goals from Peter Freeman, Steve Atchison and Joel May.  Players of the Game went to Swedens Paul Barbosa and for USA Dan Barrett.

Late game started out as a hockey game then a football game broke out.  My oh my.  Canada vs Poland.  Both teams scored 3 times in the 1st period.  Canada explodes for 8 goals in the 2nd period, might be a record, and Poland scored 3 times.  11-6 after 2 periods for the Canuckle heads.  Poland scored the first 3 goals in the 3rd making it an 11-9 game and with almost 6 minutes to go looked like a huge comeback was in the makings.  Canada takes a late penalty in the 3rd and then go ahead and score a short handed goal which basically closed out this football game with Canada on top 12-9.  Brenda had hand cramps logging this game sheet.  For Canada, hat tricks from both Patty Sharp and Robin ‘Stitches’ Flumerfelt.  2 goals from both Robin Chantaj and Neil Kelly and singles from Pat McCormick and Rob McKean.  Poland got a hat trick from Frank Arruda, 2 goals from both Jimmy Maguire and rookie Matt Goddard and singles from Brent Byer and Joe Cosentino.  Poland went 0-1 on the PP and Canada was 0-0.  Players of the Game went to Polands #8 Matt Goddard and for Canada #10 Robin Chantaj.  Maybe not the best side of Robin with the flash causing a bit of blindness.
