Ah the 2nd last game of round 4 of our 20 game pre season schedule.

Early tilt between Montreal and Edmonton saw a special treat as Mark Woods came out to cheer on his Habs for the big game.  Great to see Mark smiling back in the room or was that eyes for just Joe????  mmmmm not sure.  Mark is trying to escape down south and Joe may be travelling as his cabana boy, dos margaritas pro fefor Joooiiiieeeee!!!  Awesome opening frame in this one as the Oilers score the only goal late.  The 2nd period the Habs checked out…no really they actually checked out.  Oilers out score the Habs 7-1 in the 2nd period for an 8-1 lead.  The final frame was a tough one as Oilers score 2 more and Habs squeeze one in for a final 10-2 score.  Pretty classy from a few Oilers who just tried to run the clock off and not score anymore gotta say those boys were raised well.  So Rukavina and Thompson score for the Habs.  For the Oilers a trick for Brian Bruke, my head my head!!!!.  2 goals from Spinner Spence and our oldest member Bruce Freeman with 2 and the game winner.  Saw  him getting interviewed after the game by a reporter from the ‘Really Old Guys Magazine’,  Bruce nobody is going to remember.  Singles from Ron Chantaj, Nelson, and Kelly.  Both squads went 0-1 on the PP.  Players of the Game went to Oilers #22 Bruce Freeman and Habs was the easiest choice of the year #23 Mark Woods.  Please please continue to keep Mark in your good thoughts and we need him back on the ice and maybe more importantly to be able to handle Peacock in his speedo and greased body for a week in the hot south.  Just let it go Mark and Joe will take care of you.

Late match between our 2 titans and a game for top spot, Islanders vs Flyers.  Both teams score twice with a little over 5 minutes to go in the first period.  Flyers get 2 late goals to close out the opening frame up 4-2.  The 2nd period was a battle but neither squad could solve Scottie and Bobby as they go into the final period still up 4-2.  Islanders score at 13:50 to make it a 1 goals game.  Flyers get their 2 goal lead back at 12:15.  No letting up for this Islanders as they score again at the 10 minute mark making it 5-4.  But this was the Flyers night they score their 6th at 7:05 and then  proceed to shut the Islanders down and win this big game 6-4 and take sole position of top spot.  Great game. Both teams went 0-1 on the PP.  what?  No full moon and only one penalty per team?  Loving it.  Islanders goal scorers came off the wood of Riddell and Connell and 2 from league leader McKean.  Flyers scorers 3 big ones for their highest paid player Alan Robb, and singles from Diluzio, McCormick and Carlisle.  Players of the Game went to Flyers #8 Alan Robb (Show Mrs. Robb maybe you will get breakfast in bed, mmmmmm or if you like Peacocok can come over and vacuum in his Speedo).  For the Islanders POG goes to #3 Moe Connell.  Congrats Boys.

This weeks games Friday, February 5 will complete our 4th round.  9:15 will show case Islanders vs Bruins and at 10:30 Flyers will face off against the Oilers.  Les Habitants get a much deserved week off from their current slump.

See you all on the ice!!!
