Recap of last weeks games. Early tilt between Slovenia and Ireland. 2-1 for the surging Irish after 1. 3-2 in the 2nd period for the Irish taking a 5-3 lead into the final frame. Final period saw both squads score twice for a final score of 7-5 for the Irish winning their 3rd in a row. 2 back up goalies played for the first time in the PCOHL for this match. Slovenia went 1-2 on the PP and Ireland went 1-1. Slovenia got 2 goals from rookie phenom Chris Deware alongside 2 assists as well, singles for Brice Lewis, Robin Chantaj and Tony Cipparone. For the Irish 2 goals from sophomore Dave Vincelli and singles from Brian Spence, Dave Woodside, Dr. Joel May, Frank ‘Zamboni’ Arruda and rookie Paul Riopelle. Players of the Game went to Slovenia’s #14 Tim Freeman, the good looking Freeman. And for the Irish #13 Brian Spence.

Late game between Scotland and our top team Italy was close one after 2 periods only. Scotland score 2 unanswered goals in the 1st. Italy out scored the Scots 2-1 in the 2nd as the kilt men took a 3-2 lead into the final frame. All Scottish onslaught in the final period as they were relentless and scored 5 unanswered goals fro a convincing 8-2 victory. Lots of Brenda visitors on this night, what was in the water???? 20 minutes in penalties. Scotland went 1-4 on the PP and Italy was 0-2. Italy got 2 goals from sophomore Jeff Boulton. Scotland got a hat trick from Greg Platt, and singles from Bryon Wright, Dave Wodar, Neil Wilson, Patty Sharp, and Rick Cecchetto. Patty Sharp may win the Stan Mikita award this year as he leads the league in scoring and penalty minutes, yowsa!!! Players of the Game went to Italy’s Jeff Boulton, only a face a mother can love.

Ok so this weeks games goes Friday, December 16. At 9:15 pm Italy will face off against Ireland. At 10:30 pm Slovenia will skate against Portugal. Scotland get the week off for Xmas shopping.
