Last weeks recap. Early match between a big one as our 2 hottest teams faced off Poland and the USA.  All Americans in the opening frame as they out score the Poles 3-0.  Poland bounces back with 3 unanswered goals in the 2nd tying up this game at 3’s after 2.  back and forth as both squads score twice 5-5 with 5 minutes to go.  Poland scores the winner with 90 ticks left on the clock and win this titanic match 6-5.  USA went 1-2 on the PP and Poland went 0-1.  USA got goals from Jodie Young, Rob Leenaars, Dwayne Tygesen, Moe Connell and Rob McKean.  Poland got goals from Pat McCormick, Leo Brideau, Bryon Wright, Joe Peacock, Brian Burke and Eric Fletcher.  Players of the Game went to USA #11 Moe Connell and Polands #6 Leo Brideau.  USA loss has now locked them into the #4 seed for the Playoffs.  Poland still will battle for the top 2 seeds.  Great hockey game.

Late tilt between Finland and Canada.  1-1 after 1.  4-2 for the Canadians taking a 5-3 lead into the final frame.  Canada scores early in the 3rd taking a commanding 6-3 lead.  Finland battles back and scores 3 goals in less than a minute and a half to tie up this match at 6’s with 8 minutes to go.  Canadian rookie sensation Alloway scored his 4th of the night with 90 ticks left to win this game for Canada 7-6.  Finland went 2-3 on the PP and Canada was 0-0.  Finland got 2 goals from Brent Byer and Steve MacDougall and singles from Brian Spence and Tim Randa.  Canada got 4 goals from Paul Alloway and singles from Paul Harty, Neil Kelly and Marcello Di Luzio.  Players of the Game went to Finlands #8 Brent Byer and to Canada’s #3 Paul Alloway.  Finland loss locked them into the #3 seed for the Playoffs and Canada will battle with Poland for the final top 2 seeds in the playoffs.

This weeks games go Friday, March 9, 9:15 Sweden will face off against Canada and at 10:30 Poland will do battle with Finland.  USA get the week off.
